Jeff Clanton

During his tenure at Vanderbilt, Jeff co-authored and maintained three Investigational New Drug applications (INDs), authored or co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed scientific papers and more than 100 abstracts for presentation at national meetings, was a long standing member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee (P&T), Chairman of the Radioactive Drug Research Committee (RDRC) and Human Subjects Radiation Committee (HSRC), and member of the Radiation Safety Committee (RSC). Additionally, Jeff has served as a member of the local VA hospital’s HSRC and RDRC. His passion for teaching is apparent as he has been awarded the Faculty Award for Outstanding Performance and Dedication multiple times. He has also served as adjunct faculty for the University of Tennessee and Belmont University.

Jeff founded and co-owned an independent, commercial radiopharmacy (Princeton Diagnostic Isotopes) where he was responsible for operations and regulatory compliance. In addition, as a consultant for PETNet, he was responsible for the placement, build out, regulatory compliance, training and startup of three PET cyclotron manufacturing facilities and pharmacies in Kentucky, Arkansas and Louisiana. He is active in the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) having served as a national delegate (Section on Pharmacy Specialties), and the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) having served as President of the Radiopharmaceutical Sciences Council. He has served on multiple committees within the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) having been in the first group of pharmacists certified (BCNP). Most recently he has served on a United States Pharmacopeia expert committee for the revision of USP <797>. Jeff is licensed to practice pharmacy in Nevada, Tennessee and Arkansas.

Jeff is a long time resident of Nashville, Tennessee where he takes great pleasure spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. In addition to family activities, he enjoys cooking on his smoker, brewing his own beer, travel and competitive pistol sports.
