Bethany also served at the University of Maryland Medical Center as Medication Safety Clinical Specialist. It was during this time Bethany served as chair of the pharmacy department’s Medication Error and Adverse Drug event Committee and co-chair of the medical center’s Medication Error and Adverse Drug Event Committee. As project lead, Bethany was responsible for the successful installation of the Apoteca® chemotherapy robot.
Earlier in her career, she worked as an Internal Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Bethany served as a preceptor for pharmacy practice residents and students from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. She developed and implemented a computerized physician order entry weight-based heparin protocol and managed anticoagulation therapy of patients at the University Health Center Anticoagulation Clinic.
Bethany held positions of clinical and staff pharmacist at Anne Arundel Medical Center and Carroll Hospital Center in Maryland where she was responsible for clinical consults, including dosing antibiotics, anticoagulation, pain medications and TPN’s.
Bethany’s career also includes work at Abbott Laboratories where she served as a Product Manager for the Dyslipidemia Franchise and a Cardiovascular Clinical Science Manager.
Bethany received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from West Virginia University.
She is an active member of American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP), Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP), as well as the American College of Clinical Pharmacists (ACCP).
